Not the Boys Next Door

Following 2008’s stunningly successful debut, Citrus Entertainment returns with a fabulous new show! “Not the Boys Next Door” marks Citrus’ first authentic Adelaide cabaret venture featuring the dynamic and sublime combination of Chris Eaton and Gordon Combes.

Presenting the music of contemporary and classic Broadway composers, reinvigorated with striking interpretations, “Not the Boys Next Door” will entertain, amuse and move you, stirring the chords of the soul long after the last notes are played.

“Boys” marks Chris’ second Fringe appearance in as many years, following the critically acclaimed and sold out season of Citrus’ “A Bit of Swing Blues and Broadway”. This new show will see Eaton return to his roots, with his vibrant, emotive vocals tutored through a short but exciting career in amateur and professional musical theatre in South Australia and New South Wales.

After celebrated ventures as Musical Director of “Shout!” and “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” and performances both with the ASO and on radio, Gordon takes to the Citrus stage, combining a vast range of experience in both instrumental and vocal performance around Australia, to brilliantly complement the talents of Chris.

“Not the Boys Next Door” will highlight the music of Leonard Bernstein, Cole Porter, Rogers and Hart and contemporaries such as Jason Robert Brown, Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Kander & Ebb and even ‘The Boy from Oz’: Peter Allen.
